Valencia Res v Aberdeen Res Predicting a goal fest here for both sides? Aren't they all in this division? Average 6.4 goals per game in this division! Higher than all others I think. For some reason this bunch of managers has really decided to go for it... Not too sure why my lot are doing so badly this season. Similar skill levels to Valencia - except the keeper! Although somehow your keeper has only faced 41 shots compared to mine 98!

Valencia Res v Aberdeen Res Predicting a goal fest here for both sides? You were half right! Red card killed the game, then the difference was the keepers. My guy is due to go up to the seniors this season, will be a different story when he's replaced by a 15 rated.

Week 8
Well we seem to have found some form from somewhere, from propping up the table early doors to 3rd place and top scorers. Hit 5 for the third week in a row, and the boy Templeton got his 2nd hat-trick in a row. We might be on course to beat our club record of 50 goals in a season.
A couple of late, late goals going in at Arsenal and Feyenoord. And rumours of a major discipline problem in the Valencia reserve squad - time for the 1st team manager to step in?
Some good little games here. We have the highest scoring reserve league, with only one team on less than 20 goals so far.

Thought I was doing okay in this division but suddenly two losses in a row and I'm bottom of the league! Equal in points with 5th place though so still pretty open. My squad looks quite weak in comparison to a lot of the other teams so something I need to work on at the end of the season..

Week 9 - we went three better and banged in 8 this week, 4 coming from sub Pahars after he came on at 70 mins (annoying as he's not a player I'm trying to develop). The team now has 23 goals in the last 4 games. Looking even better to beat my target of 50 goals, and there is now a danger of promotion...
Week 10 - top of the table clash, we'll see what Werder are really made of. My midfield is decimated by fitness issues though so this might be the end of our run.
Also our 26 rated keeper will go up to the first team any week now, so the last couple of weeks of the season could be a baptism of fire for 15 year old new signing H_Manzoni. I see that Werder have the same problem, and Celtic are not far behind.
Interesting stats: keeper skill vs reserve league position
1. Werder - 26 2. Aberdeen - 26 3. Celtic - 26 4. Feyenoord - 24 5. Roma - 23 6. Benfica - 22 7. Arsenal - 21 8. Valencia - 19
Could it be that keeper skill is the no.1 factor in reserve league success?

Week 11 - might have spoken too soon about our keeper getting promoted, this week he ships 7 goals and loses 50 abs!

Yeah i'm going to need to get another keeper in at the end of the season as Assenjo will probably be going out on loan.
But until then i'm glad to have him between the posts as this week saw another good win for my lot and against Werder Bremen which means I've opened a 3 point gap in the race for the title.
Up next is Dans high scoring Aberdeen, in our last meeting we came out on top in a 10 goal thriller so hope for more of the same on Monday!

Interesting that you are planning to loan out your no.2 keeper and try and develop him. He's only 3 years younger than your no.1 so not likely to replace him? I am in the same situation, so I thought no point trying to develop him, better to have a 27 rated backup for the 1-2 games per season he might be needed. I guess at some point you might sell one of them for a profit though. Will be interesting also to see if anyone will take a 27 rated keeper on loan.
Anyway yes hoping for another goal fest!

Quite a few teams will see their keepers retire over the next few seasons and I'm planning on paying per minute that he plays so I should be able to loan him out until he gets to about 30rtd.

A great win for the second string away to the leaders, mostly with 10 men, which really opens up the top of the table going into the last two games of the season. We are still just hanging onto the highest scoring team tag, but as usual my striker isn't very keen to develop himself, and let others grab the goals, two from a defender and one from midfield.

Another good week for the second string, beating our target of 50 goals and our keeper finally being promoted to the senior side. Sadly for him, he'll spend most of the next 14 seasons on the bench, but that's football. So we go into the final week with our new 15 year old stopper making his debut. Any one of three teams could take the title, with a fourth in the running for promotion.
