Well, well, Season 9 is coming and what does it hold for us in D2?
Comparing first XIs:
Chris at Spurs has been very busy in the transfer market, he is very powerful going forward - his achilles heel is perhaps his back five and Chris may consider strengthening here before the season progresses.
John and Villa have been quiet so far, on pure 442 stats Villa appears to have the weakest team, although we all know ESMS is not as simple as my number is bigger than yours! Johns' tactically nouse may well be needed to help this team.
Steve is back and this time its Atletico! I am sure this team will change a lot and he is very tactically sound. Similar stats to Spurs with help needed at the back.
Arsenal and John have, in my opinion, the strongest team in the division. Good use of the team should see a positive season from Arsenal.
Dave at Sunderland has just won promotion from D3. Steady team - but obvious performance last season carried into this could see Dave competing. The team has a weak keeper and against some of the bigger boys could leak goals.
Chelsea Lee!! Very consistent line up. Finished runner up in D3 and knows his way round a team sheet. Same performance again? I think a season of improvement on his team will be his aim.
Bremen with Harry have a strong front line, weak defence. Surprise relegation from D1 last season, experienced manager. Expect to see Harry there or thereabouts this season.
Overall?
Well to fear riling my rivals I am prepared to tip Arsenal for the title and Spurs or Werder Bremen for the second spot. If Chris fixes his back line then he can clinch it - else I expect Harry to pip him for it.
Relegation candidates out of Villa, Sunderland and Everton.
