Arsenal 2 - 0 Valencia Sao Paulo FC 0 - 1 Hearts Schalke 04 1 - 0 Liverpool Feyenoord 1 - 0 Aston Villa
Happy with that, set out to just nick a goal and then shut up shop, which we did well. Not one for the neutrals, good job really that we had a red card to give the crowd something two watch. All to play for in the 2nd leg, 1-0 is the slimmest of margins, makes the tactics harder really because you have to plan for different possibilities.

1-0 loss against Feyenoord at a very defensive game (only 2 attempts at goal). Next game Villa will play at home in Birmingham, so we have to do it at a full Villa Park.

Very harsh on Villa with two red cards. As a manager there's not much you can do about that. We were fortunate to get the early goal which then meant they had it all to do, but then with the self destruct in the second half we were always looking safe. Unlucky Pierre, best of luck next season.
Amazing turnaround from Valencia but the fans will have serious questions to ask of the Arsenal manager.
So a tasty Glasgow meeting now with Liverpool, who we have drawn with twice this season. Too close to call? On league position we should be slim favourites.

Unlucky Pierre, best of luck next season. I see it the same way. Villa had slighty more possession and some more attempts on goal, but two red cards (49th and 52th minute) and it's over. But on the other hand, well played Dan. Get in an early goal and than close all doors. Good luck in the final.

I was on a stag do abroad from Friday and don't return until later today, thought I had done my team before I left. Got a message from Malky telling me I hadn't done a sheet but given that there was no reminder email or WhatsApp I think a chance to swap out the player that directed me to play t would have been nice given the importance of the game

League Play Off Final - Thu 11 Apr Valencia 0 - 4 Hearts Liverpool 0 - 1 Feyenoord
Well that's an amazing turnaround for us after nearly picking up the wooden spoon last season, delighted to be taking the club back up to Div 1 after 5 seasons in the bottom tier. Again feels a slightly hollow victory as Liverpool were chasing the game and then went a man down. Maybe we've been lucky this season and will get found out next time. Down to me then to make the squad changes necessary for survival...
