Division Two Preview
Round One
Atletico Madrid vs Feyenoord
Madrid have a strong, but ageing midfield, a top class keeper but only an average defence and forward line. Currently looking for a manager and will
Line up 442N. Key Man: I_Cuellar
Feyenoord must have the largest squad in the EFL. Could do with a bit more
Strength in defence and to replace current stars soon. Need the strikers to be on form to make the difference. Key Man: Joao_Paiva
Expectation, Atletico to be too strong at home. Home win.
Tottenham vs Aston Villa
Spurs have a new manager this season so we can expect something a little different from them. In Cech they have an outstanding keeper but so far other than adding one defender have the same squad as last season. Should be too strong, in this division. Key Man: Gabi
Villa, newly promoted, has a very average team. They will be needing a good start and to then continue the form to stand any chance of being competitive.
Age is not a problem and this team can grow together. Key Man: A_Young
Expectation, Spurs to run out winners.
Werder Bremen vs Arsenal
Werder start the season at home, and have a very well balanced squad. I would expect them to be competing at the top of the table this season. Harry has been around the block and knows what is expected. Key Man: R_Ayala
Arsenal are another very average looking team that will need form and good fortune to get on. A reasonable blend of youth and experience and four close season acquisitions could change their fortunes. Arsenal are a team for the future. Key Man: R_Mason (The Future?)
Expectation, Werder victory.
Newcastle vs Chelsea
Far and away the most active team in the market, Newcastle has been somewhat of a revolving door. Despite all this activity still an average team.
Key Man: P_Levchenko
Chelsea, relegated last year, are old but with a few stand out players. If this team is put together correctly could well figure in the shake up for the play offs. Little transfer activity so far. Key Man: M_Magnusson.
Expectation draw.
Season Expectations
Spurs, Werder to compete at top.
Chelsea, Villa, Newcastle play off rivals
Feyenoord, Arsenal, Atletico relegation favourites
