I can see exactly where your comming from!
pay wages on all players over 21yrs, stops managers stock piling senior players or putting together a reserve team full of 22/23 rated players!
I'm just saying there's other stuff to concider!
The age cap for the reserves seen alot players promoted to the first team aged 22years and the majority of those was 19rated, we seen around 95% of promoted players released from the game!
It was discussed and the point was made that those players, that where 22yrs 19rated still had 14seasons left in the game and by lifting the cap would benefit from a few more seasons in the reserves! those players with good progression could be as good as 25/26yrs 22/23rated which would be good back ups for our first teams if not first team players for the retiring players.
Now should we penalize managers for having those players? NO! because we will just see more players leave the game. should we pay for that privelage? hmmm possibly
I did concider making the reserves independant, where they had there own gate money and wages for the whole team, but realized that with scouted players secondary skills being so high that wages might be a nightmare!
So my idea. if this is the road you want to go down? is pay for all players over 21yrs but have a small income from reserve home games, to pay for those extra players that would benefit and to stop a large percentage of players being released, but not large enough for a team to have a team full of those players!
That way it keeps the balance right, finances would still be on track and it would prevent too many senior high rated players in the reserves!
However if a team can afford to do that then fair play!
