WEEK 9 (01/07/09) Real Madrid v Celtic FC Inter Milan v Ajax Everton v Barcelona FC Porto v Werder Bremen Well, will there be a better time for Ajax to try and beat me? Could well see my lads drop from top spot this week, so I face a couple of tough decisions to make as to how I play and what to do rest wise, do I class the game as already lost and make the most of it, or try and get something and risk tiring my players for no end result? hmmm

Real Madrid v Celtic FC Two wins on the trot for Celtic should give them hope of a third which could see them push up into fourth. Real Madrid are really struggling to find any form this season, but have pulled out some good results. Celtic sneaked a 1-0 in the reverse leg earlier this season. Nothing separates these two at the moment, but I think Real will win in front of the home fans and bring three vital points to the club. Inter Milan v Ajax Inter and Ajax are both having a good season so far; occupying two of the top three spots. Ajax did of course manage a draw at home to Inter, but will find this match to be the toughest of the season. Inter have to accept that most of the opposition will approach them with a cautious set up and can expect little action. Ajax, however, are not a team to lie down and absorb the pressure, so this could be a match producing a few goals. My bet has to go with the bookies favourite this week, Inter will grab the three points to make it six out of nine so far this season. Everton v Barcelona Managerless Everton are not having a good season at all, sitting rooted to the bottom of Division One with only three points. Barcelona are doing ok, but showing signs of inconsitency. Everton could change their season with a result here. Barcelona may prove just too difficult for that and I predict a narrow away win.
FC Porto v Werder Bremen The two most difficult oppositions in the division face each other. Porto are very solid this time round and are grinding out the results needed. Bremen are too close to Everton for comfort at the moment and need to grab as many wins as possible to start climbing the table. I can't see it happening away to Porto, but I feel Werder Bremen will gather enough points to depend heavily on their final match away to Celtic; so could Celtic of course. I'm going to go against the bookies and bet on a draw for this one.

sheets in, going for a draw, cant risk anything else with an 18 rated keeper in goal... :-(

Sheets in, almost forgot about it, thanks for the reminder by mail Malky. Hadn't much time to think about the sheet, so choose a tactic which is obvious against Porto. We'll see.

I've gone for a boring tactic against Everton hoping it'll keep them quiet and give me the points :-)
