So, ideas to improve the game?
Personally, id still like an auction, more than likely EOS, so then you have to decide whether to save your money or not, would also solve the problem with big clubs not spending.

I thought i'd update everyone on this subject since season 8 is nearly completed. as mentioned before stat wise this has been the worst ever in ELF history, since May you guys have not been visiting the site as much as half of what you used to so that starts the alarm bells ringing for me as to why!! im sure we have asked that question many times, again you just have to look at Division Three this week where out of 8 managers who sheet most weeks, not one of them wants to comment on either the past result or the match comming up. i dont want managers to play this game cause its the norm and just cause they feel they have to. i want to try and bring the excitement back that came with the first 1-5 seasons.
so again without going daft and changing loads about the game, i dont think you can ever stand still, i think you always have to look at ways of improving the game and making it more enjoyable for the managers.
so this pre season there will be a big shake up. not match engine wise or leagues etc, but the forum needs big changes to include all the rules again, and information that new managers and you guys need.
also, a few seasons ago i changed abbs for GK and DF to try and bring them back in line with MF and FW. i feel that has worked and the good players are spread around the game. so now i think its time to look at that again, and maybe adjust the keepers just a small bit back again. abbs is one part of the game we need to look at each season, i think most games like this do until they get it right.
other stuff like auctions, scout missions, Division TV Deals, Internationals will all be talked about and added if we feel it will make for a better game.
On that note, im going to ask for help from a couple of people to set up all this ie rules etc for next season, and we will open up a topic for ideas and discussions for next season. we really need to get this right so everyone enjoys each season, and we visit the site more.
everyones life changes and mine has alot since i started this in October 2007, and the next 6 months will be both difficult and challenging for me. thats why i feel now to continue to give u this game im going to need more help to run it. that means two guys who have both the time and willing to put in the effort to make sure everything runs on time.
so if anyone feels up for this let me know via email and we can go on msn or into the EFL chat room and talk about what direction we are taking EFL

totally agree with whats been said, i like the fact that where always trying to drive the game forward/improve and progress is 1 thing many ESMS games dont do. Especially in a constructive way involving all managers input and views.
we get to have our say.
and it has been said, nothing to drastic either which doesnt hinder current gameplay, more along the lines of tweaking the game as is and looking to add just a little extra to increase activity.
i think it goes without saying that i would be more than willing to help out in anyway i can.
even though i get called a geek the only thing i havent really got round too is actually using the game engine but im sure that is something i can figure out easily lol
i also think we have a good core group of managers who can help out in many ways, so im more than confident we can bring the game up too speed and help out if needed.

to be entirely honest
1 - i dont think malky wants his baby being run by somebody else 2 - i know when steve helped me with mine, its a logistical nightmare keeping track of player moves etc etc 3 - nooooooooooooooooooooo last thing i wanna do is run games!!!!
cheers for the stitch up though ;-) you should volunteer what with all your free time to get your dog on fbook this would be nothing, infact, youd be a great candidate!

honestly splitting the seniors/reserves is a massive no no on so many levels

I agree with a lot of this, but I don't think we need to change the ability and bonus level at the moment. Defenders, especially, aren't developing at the same rate as other players and keepers should be a grade above the rest. I think if we change the settings for the keepers now, teams will struggle to reach the ratings we have for the better keepers today. As for auctions and internationals, I think they're great ideas, but maybe we can't throw it all into the game at once. I'll be more than happy to help out with any aspect you feel suitable to delegate.

but the problem is, if we wait till the weaker keepers are 30ish rated, the current stars will be MONSTERS

the keeper stats defo need tweaking ever so slightly, not by much at all, i think defenders could possibly wait a season or 2 but good defs are apearing more.
I think an end of season auction would be great and could stimulate some interest in the end of season, I think the fairest way would be a blind auction with say 2 or 3 bids. this would encourage more teams to bid.
I dont know about the forum, thats always going to be an issue, i know i am not the most talkative but i try to have my say and engage in some banter as this is all part of the game, and seems if managers are not taking part in this, then its almost as bad as not sheeting in some respects. especially when u look at div 3 this season, how exciting the league is and noone is talking about it, i just dont get that but i also dont know how u can improve upon that situation.

How about we say each manager can only put a maximum of five bids or something in total on all the auctions?

i think the less bids the better really makes the decisions harder i think 2 or 3 is a good number but all depends on how many players would be in the auction
