A lesson learned there, I think. Our development striker D_Templeton is having his best season to date, topping the scoring table at the moment and set to move up to the senior squad at the end of the season. Valencia's reserve team is a sea of pale blue, so hats off to Andie for investing in youth, but feck knows how he's going develop them all. Arsenal are doing well as expected, with 6 22 raters in the reserves and a good keeper. Week 8 we have a tough trip to Villa, meanwhile there is a top of the table clash.

Nice Post Dan....
My plan was always to try and develop the youth... I can see problems when they hit 23, get promoted and decimate the reserves!

Another loss, was well ahead in the first half but then Capivara had a mad few minutes and threw the ball in his own goal twice... not what I expect from a future 1st team keeper. After a good start am now slipping down the table alarmingly, need to try something new to turn it around. Well done Arsenal to come back into the game, got a strong group of reserves there

Cheers Theo.... Hopefully some of these youngsters can push on, develop and challenge for 1st team places soon. James looks like he's developing into a fantastic keeper

James looks like he's developing into a fantastic keeper *31 managers check Arsenal reserves page to see if you're right* Yes he's looking very good, should be 27 rated by age 21. In fact the trick will be to get him a good EOS bonus in his last youth year (next season) to take him above 27 before he has to start playing first team. Then the difficult comes of getting him up to 30+.

I'm just stock piling players for now to see how the new longer season pans out? plus getting them all cheap as well.
As for the league think Arsenal will slip up in the later stages as their 22 raters will move up into their first team.

Good point - just signed a few players which will hopefully mean that i can ration the game time the 22 rated strikers get and hopefully they wont get 23 rated before the end of the season!

Interesting approach Adrian! So you are actually trying to win the reserve league by playing lesser skilled players! And it might work.

That makes me sound like Bryn (Jokes!) Not playing lesser skilled players as such - just rotating so that the 2 22 rated players I have dont get 23 rated before the end of the season!

So instead of playing the 22 raters you are playing lesser skilled players... sounds like playing lesser skilled players to me. I'm not against it, because you're doing your best to get the most wins over the season, it's just a bit of a quirk of the rules that sometimes we have to do these things.
