Never the way you wanna win a game but can't knock the abs and the lads still put on a show, possibly should have a rested a few more but hey ho.
Disappointing that Nade failed to get on the score sheet but hisjob is to feed the main man RVN who scores for fun, although I'm not sure who the commentator was with the following comment;
Min. 50 :(bnm) N_Jelavic will replace the useless R_v_Nistelroy and will play FW
ok, I suppose he only scored one in nearly 5 chances, so maybe he has a point!
Back to the business end of things and a fully fit squad to face Valencia.

Very happy to get my first goal & point of the season ;D Valencia on paper was my hardest group match, didn't really expect anything from it and dropped a couple of star midfielders to preserve them for league duty. 50% possession against a better side is pleasing as well. Took my big centre half to score right enough, so my shot shy strikers still under performing Next up in this group another away trip (cheers Malky ) to Castle Greyskull and a tough tie against Newco/Sevco/The Rangers or whatever they're calling themselves nowadays ;D Would happily take a point from that one and give myself a chance in the final game at home to Feyenoord

Group C
Very pleased to have bagged 3 points in probably my only winnable game. Both sides lined up with identical formations but in the end home advantage was the difference and we did a good job, despite finishing with only 9 men.
High drama at Santos, with 10 man Marseille grabbing an injury time pen to take the points. Santos could be in trouble. Does Man Utd away have banana skin written all over it? Realistically I think not, but stranger things have happened...
It only takes one surprising result to make a group totally unpredictable. Do I fancy our chances at home to Marseille...?
Looking forward to game 2!

Sunderland 1 - 1 Liverpool
High drama here too, the Reds going 1-0 inside 7 mins and then Malky switches to D for the rest of the game! (Fair play to him.) Sunderland are knocking on the door for the rest of the game, although remarkably Liverpool hit the woodwork and have another goal disallowed. Then the Black Cats get the equaliser in the 93rd minute. Sunderland will feel they should have got more, with Nelisse this time failing to convert 6 attempts, but it came very close to a daylight robbery smash and grab by Liverpool.

FC Porto 2 - 2 Real Madrid great result for my lads and we actually looked good for the point and maybe even a win on stats. plenty of action with both teams possibly thinking they were unlucky with decisions. good game Ahmed

Happy to get a point away at Ajax, particularly as we didnt get too hammered on the stats. Another away game to come, if I can get something out of that one it looks promising to get out of the group

Happy to grab a rare away win for me. Celtic might be in div 3 but they have a very strong team especially up front so great to come away with a clean sheet too

Did everything ok, tactics etc: must of hit the post 6 times during the first half alone, Marseille keeper had a blinder as well ...... not much else you can do ...

Sunderland 1 v 1 Liverpool
disappointed to draw the game with an 93 minute equalizer!
thought i was going to get my 3rd 1-0 win of the season, was hoping not to lose the match and thats why i went D if 1-0 up as i was just hoping to hang onto what i had!
stat wise a draw was about a fair result Sunderland may be in Division Two but they have a Division One squad! and have made a really good start to the season, so again i should be happy enough with the point

Can't say I was surprised by the result. Benfica are a great team and once again my team, especially my forwards didn't turn up.
