Good wee group i am in, hopeful that i can squeek through to the next phase, Spurs again, this time we have them at home, tweaked team and tactics, have to take 3 points to set myself up with a good chance of going through. Group A looks a cracking competitive leage, also i am sure Malky is looking forward to the Merseyside derby ! Ajax v Valencia should be another cracker. Good luck all, especially me.

Group B - we really need two wins out of three to go through so we start off with a must win game. At least we have home advantage, but Hearts have improved further since they beat us 4-0 at our place last season (yes it still hurts). Hearts too will probably feel they need to pick up 6 points from us and Chelsea, so should be a hard fought game.
Nightmare journey for Chelsea to Munich - how defensive will they dare to go, can they survive backs to the wall for 90 mins? Also we have to wonder whether John will rest any of his stars, with the top of the table clash coming up in the league.

Pretty strong Munich side out with RVN spear heading the attack. Chelsea have a few fitness concerns so hope to get a few early goals and pull off our star man giving our new boy some game time.
The draw has been kind giving us two home games to hopefully put the group to bed, which could play into Aberdeen's hands.

Ajax v Valencia
anything out of this game will be a bonus, I think both me and andy are in a relegation battle so a few reserves players in this one (there is for me), think the bigger game will be next week when we meat in the league.

Hearts will be changing a few players round for this one.
We do of course want to do well in the competition but not at the expense of the league so we will move some things around and give some of our reserves a run out.
We will try to win but i will not be too concerned if we don't, with Munich in this group we are always playing for second and i don't think i can commit enough strong squads to the remaining winnable games in the group to progress so we won't be pushing too hard in this one.

FC Porto v Aston Villa
A game we should be looking to win here, with Benfica in the group we can not afford to slip up in our other 2 games really. Will need to look at a couple players fitnesses but should be fine to have a strong enough team on the field with Villa having a few fitness worries themselves.
be nice to get further in the competition for a change lol.

A point and goal difference better than -10 is my aim here but if I get a point from this group it will be a miracle!
I think I'll be playing mostly youth players and resting my older ones for the league.

Lyon v AS Roma
Hoping to spring a surprise in this one. Have decided to give the cups a go this season and try to get a decent cup run in. Hoping the three division 1 sides will tire each other out in the league games for me to sneak through to the next round.
Still need a win as Lyon manager as well so a giant-killing at home in the cup would be a nice way to do it!!
