Wow... delighted to win the game, but i think this was mainly down to Marseille's keeper being injured and the red card after 14 minutes.
If it wasnt for that I doubt I would have had it so easy.
Always happy to progress in a cup though!!

Very Happy To Make The Quarter Finals, And Hopefully A Home Draw As Us Smaller Clubs Need All The Money We Can Get!
Unlucky To Neil and His Lyon Who Were The Better Team On The Park And With A Bit Of Luck Would Be Into The Next Round!
Both Teams Set Up 4-5-1 So A Very Crowded Midfield Area, the sending off in 13 mins didnt help us but we managed to get ahead on 45 mins with a goal that proved to be the winner in the end!
Neil will be unhappy with M_Harewood who missed a penalty just a moment before we opened the scoring!
next round is just a bonus for us and like i said very happy to still be in the cup

Delighted to be through to the QFs for the first time in 10 seasons. A good game for the fans, plenty of attacking play, we set up on the classic counter attack with two AMs behind the front man, Benfica switched it around, trying A then E then back to A. Our early goal kept the tension high for the whole match. It could easily have gone either way but we held on and our keeper deserved his MOM award. Nice to be turning into someone else's bogey team!
If we're lucky enough to get a home draw in the QFs, I think the only team we'd really fear is Real.

well as every manager in the predictions predicted us to lose in the 90 mins............. a 0-0 as i predicted was a good result. but with a 27rtd in goal for the shoot out compared to their 37rtd, we were always going to struggle. really pissed off that my best striker is the 1 to miss the first pen though, its ridiculous.
congrats Pezza

Lyon 0 - 1 Liverpool
Mixed reaction to this result really. I think on stats we probably deserved it...helped by Liverpool going down to 10 men. Very frustrating that Harewood missed a pen and then they went up the other end and scored the winner. But on the other hand we outplayed a quality div 1 side and had a full-house at home. Managed to regain a bit of fitness by resting a few (which may have cost us the game). Battling on 3 fronts was always going to be difficult for our squad. All in all, disappointed but at least we can concentrate on the league and knocking Real Madrid out of the FA cup!

Andies Valencia took their chances, took a gamble playing Murphy behind a striker, didn't work at all Stats were fairly even , but Valencia were just that wee bit classier on the day and had all the answers for anything we had to offer. A bad day at the office for my lowly rated keeper. Well done Andie, good luck in the quarters.

Certainly a great chance for one of the so called "smaller" clubs to make the final.
Real now red hot favourites to add to their silverware and some what mask their disappointing league form but who will likely join them in the final?
Valencia slight favs but my monies on the ever impressive Hearts. Although you could put a case forward for all of the other quarter finalists making it.
I suppose it's a case of avoiding Ahmed's side of the draw!

Did the same thing, playing Wolford behind my striker to try and push onto Wilshere! That didn't work either?? lol
Anyway, an even game and on another day could have went completely different?
