The last few days and hours of the transfer window is always a hectic period as the 32 Elite Football League clubs rush to complete their business with the EFL Transfer Department before the deadline.
In order to register a player, clubs have to send the EFL League all the documents relating to the transfer, including the contract, the transfer agreement, permission to work in the UK (if required), international clearance if transferring from abroad as well as any transfer levy that may apply.
As the transfer deadline approaches, clubs are asked whether they are planning to complete any business so that the Football Department is prepared. The office is staffed late into the night to answer any queries from clubs but generally they will conclude the deal club to club and then submit the paperwork.
all deals must be correct signed and in the hands of the EFL team on or before the 22:00pm deadline!!!
Once the paperwork is received, it is checked against the EFL League and Football Association rules. In some cases the transfer needs to comply with FIFA regulations, too. If there are any issues the club is contacted for clarification or more information accordingly.
It does get busy. In one window approximately 30 transfers came through in the space of an hour. Staff will not go home until everything is checked and signed off.

Liverpool have today placed 35 year old former french international D_Trezeguet on the transfer list! Trezeguet who only joined the Anfield club at the start of the season retires at the end of this season but feels he still has one last trick up his sleeve!
Trezeguet has five big matches left in his locker or one or two more depending on who comes in for him!
despite retiring at the end of the season Trezeguet is still a potential match winner on his day and could mean the difference to one club whether they win the league or avoid relegation!D_Trezeguet 35 fra 1 5 3 28 23 300 921 601 409 14 0 1089 1 0 0 1 0 52 5 0 0 0 0 99

One thing to clarify Malky.... the teamsheet deadline is now 8pm. Is the transfer deadline definitely 10pm? Will you extend the teamsheet deadline for that week only as well?

Transfer Deadline Will Be 22:00pm

Salim_Kerkar is in talks with an unnamed club, in an attempt to end his frustration at being only a bit part of the Munich squad.
Gabi looks like he could be set to end his glittering career at the Munich and hopes to add to his long list of winners medals.
RVN will not leave in this window despite some recent interest in the striker, but looks set for end of season farewell.

Sources at Gazzetta Dello Sport in Italy are hinting that midfield maestro Xavi may be looking to leave the club this summer as his relationship with manager Peter Griffin reaches a new low point.
Sources from inside Nerazzurri state no player is bigger than the club and they won't be allowed to force a sale that isn't in the interest of the club.

Rumours have surfaced overnight that Lyon star striker Stefano could be on his way out of the club. The highly rated youngster has been the subject of interest in the last few transfer windows...but unlike previously manager Neil Abbott has not issued a hands off warning.
It is thought Lyon would allow Stefano to leave if the right offer came in, which would benefit the club long-term.
Stefano, 21 is thought to be looking for a move to a bigger club where there is a chance of some silverware.

The news from Lyon is that Stefano will start in tonights FA Cup quarter-final against the mighty Real Madrid, despite being close to a move away from the Stade de Gerland! A number of destinations are potentially open to the young striker...one of which is a new contract at Lyon!
Lyon manager Abbott spoke to Sky Sports reporters this lunchtime outside the French side's training ground. "We are currently discussing deals with a number of clubs but nothing is final yet. We would still like to keep hold of him as he is a potential Elite League star but no one player is bigger than this club. Every player has his price, but Stefano's price is pretty high...!"
