Not looking forward to this game, lambs to the slaughter me thinks, this is the group of death, two home game may help though, wont do the bank balance any harm !
Ajax must be trembling in their football boots at the prospect !

Group D
Liverpool v Bayern Munich
Im sure Munich will go into this match with a much changed starting 11 as they have a much more important mach away to Everton in the league the following week so i expect to see W_Lavezzi, D_Burford, B_Aguiar, G_Pinedo and Matej_Vydra all starting this cup match!
im sure we will have planted a seed in John mind and he'll be hoping that Munich score first and then the rest of the match should be easy! fall behind and we have shown we are capable of holding out for the 90 mins!
We have a good few fitness worries at the moment so our own rotation system will have to come into play also.
new signing from Hearts R_Radinski will start in Midfield while P_Kluivert should also get a good run out! all scary stuff for Bayern im sure!
looking forward to it all the same! the cup is always exciting with some managers choosing to field there 'fringe' players in these competitions and focus more on the league!
good luck all

Group H Celtic FC v Aberdeen Juventus v Santos FC
Not too disappointed with this draw, we're always going to find it tough because we're in the bottom seed group, but it could have been worse. Celtic are of course a quality side and we're facing them away from home, but we've got a decent chance of getting something from the game. Hoping that Santos can do the business in Italy, to open up the race for second spot.

Juventus will be hoping for a friendly result against Santos. We will be giving a chance to our youth players in the first game and see if we can get something out of the remaining games in FA cup. Good luck to everyone

Although being in a tough group has meant I really can't afford to lose this one, a draw wouldn't be a bad result but we'll be looking for 2 early round victories to try and put this group to bed. I'll certainly use this as an opportunity to bring in a few fringe players, but we're trying to build a squad on par with Madrid, so the likes of Lavezzi, Sweeper, Burford, B_Aguiar, G_Pinedo and Matej_Vydra were brought in to add strength in depth. Which in turn means the likes of Muller, Schulz, Gemmell, Kilbane and the likes of won't be needed from the reserves. Add these with a sprinkling of Schulz, Gravesen and RVN and on paper we should still be winning games like this. Malky, has possibly got a little bit of a dilemma after should a great start. He may have been targeting cups as an area for revenue and abs but now he might be thinking more of the league game to follow, a couple more victories and points on the board and Malky would be all but safe by the half way mark, which would be some achievement. We'll be going all out to win this group and the competition being the holders, so expect a strong Munich line up whatever we decide.

A FEW x-Ajax player to come up against, will both teams finish with 11 players

Group E
Great draw for us and with our impressive cup form last year we should be favourites to go through as runners-up to Hearts! Always difficult to know how seriously managers take the cups so i'm not sure what sort of Schalke team we will face this week. Last year we schooled them in the cup but they battered us in Week 1 so the mental edge is with the Germans.
In the hope of turning my league form round a few first-teamers will be rested. But if schalke do the same we could still get a result at home and finally give the fans something to cheer about this season.
Like last year i hope to progress to the knock-out stage but i'm certainly not expecting a repeat of last seasons giant-killing heroics....!
Elsewhere in this group i think Sunderland will have a tough task to cause Hearts much of a problem.

So Malky, was there no seeding this season after all? No seeding as last season! Makes for a more exciting cup competition don't you think?

Yeah I guess so. So actually we have ended up with probably the most balanced group, with one team from each division. No seeding gives the weaker teams a chance to go through, if they are lucky enough to be drawn in a group with no Elite teams (i.e. B and E).

Its my fellow division 3 teams i struggle against....!!

I'll be using my young lads in these games as I want to keep my key players fit for the league.
