Of the 5 teams out, only AC Milan still had 11 men on the pitch. Some card happy refs trying to make a name for themselves on the international stage tonight!

Aberdeen 2 - 0 Fenerbahce
A good day at the office for the boys, fortunate of course to have a home draw and to have kept all players on the pitch. Never thought for a moment about using any second string players though. Money in the bank, abs on the board, happy with that. And two goals from two strikers, which almost never happens at Aberdeen.

São Paulo 1 - 1 Lyon (Lyon win 4-2 on penalties)
Unconvincing to say the least but we did leave out some big first-teamers and got some abs for some of the younger guys. Did the business from the spot and we breath a huge sigh of relief. Hopefully a home draw beckons but this cup remains our third priority this season!

Happy with a professional performance from my lads today, dodged the potential banana skin of losing to a non league club.

Very happy with my first game in charge, won the game 2-0 and it could and perhaps should have been more, but we needed to hit the ground running and build the momentum around WHL and thats what we've done. An all important home tie in the second round too.
