Stonehouse demands players start taking their chances.
Spurs manager Scott Stonehouse has overseen a mixed start to his tenure in charge of the North London club, having cruised past Spartak Moscow in the first round of the EFL League Cup, they then saw defeat in the first game of Division 2 away to Feyenoord, and the rookie manager is demanding more from his forwards, and attacking players in front of goal.
"Against Spartak in the cup we had a hat ful of chances and only managed two goals, it was nervy towards the end because if they had scored one, then it really would have changed the game. Anything could have happened but fortunately for us we managed to see the game through, but against Feyenoord we didn't take our chances. We had just as many chances in front of goal, and just as much of the ball, key passes towards goal whathaveyou, but we didnt show that cutting edge, that killer instinct infront of goal, hopefully after another weeks training we can take our chances against United."
Spurs go into Mondays game against Man Utd with a clean bill of health and Stonehouse isnt expected to make any changes to the starting XI, but Stonehouse admitted he isnt afraid to mix things up a bit if the time comes.
"My team is strong, and capable of competing at this level that goes without question, however there will be times when i bring in members of the Reserve squad to freshen things up, both to give First team members a lift and also to let those performing for the Reserves know that if they do well, they will get their chance, im extremely open to mixing the team up and playing the best elevenweek in, week out."
