Home to Villa.
Cant really take anything from our cup game, but I will of course be playing my first team. They may have half an eye on qualifying in the cup and play a weakened team, which wouldn't really be a positive for me as I still wont know anything about him tactically.
I quite fancy being able to pull back the 2-0 loss in the second leg, but I wont base my team selection on that hope, will be aiming for the win here.

So we open our account away to the Black Cats, who last season finished bottom of the league. They have brought in journeyman midfielder I_Osbourne and young loan striker A_Langlitz, but John is on a long rebuilding programme and overall they don't look much stronger. Still, there are no easy games away from home, so we will be giving them plenty of respect while hoping we can get the season off to a winning start.
Elsewhere I would expect Chelsea to prevail at home to their rivals from last season. Promotion favourites Schalke should overcome Dortmund in the German derby. The other three new teams all have winnable home games, so it will be interesting to see what sort of showing they can make in their first EFL league appearances.
