Aston Villa are no mugs and have a very decent team, Gers will put a good team out with maybe one or two youngsters getting their chance, my cup record the last four or five seasons has been miserable, up there with the worst in fact ! The fans will demand some sort of run this season so it will be game face on, and hopefully an awesome display from the lads !
Few tricky ties in their, Aberdeen could spring a surprise as could Schalke Newcastle and Benfica.

Should be a good game against Scott's City. They've brought in some experience in the midfield where they're closely matched to us. We do appear to have the stronger defence and strikers, so we're likely to introduce one or two reserves. Could be a lot closer than the numbers may suggest. We're getting desperate for our first win though, as I'm sure City are.

Manchester United v Liverpool
been here before when we played Sunderland and expected to beat them, nothing is straight forward and you have to earn a win in every match, so there will be no three at the back, no three forwards etc, we will treat this like every other match, looking forward to seeing the league table after match 1, and how managers thinking will change as we play game two then game three! should be really interesting

FC Porto v Tottenham
The cups always throw up a few surprises, so will be hoping to avoid being 1 of them teams on the receiving end. With a fully fit RVN up against a 27rtd keeper the game has the potential to be a goal fest, but we wont look to go out all gung-ho as could well bite us in the bum. We will look to take all 3pts though and get us set up for getting through the group stages of the cup.
possibly a slight change in formation with fitness in mind for the important league survival challenge ahead this season.
