Tactical masterstroke from Jobface to kill the game off, but no-one could have have expected the game being handed to Villa in the 2nd minute with Van der Sar going off. But why oh why was Falcon not on the bench for Ajax!?!? He could have made all the difference.
Sterling effort from Benfica playing most of the game with 10 men, Thorstvedt keeping them in the game with an amazing 17 saves. But unable to continue the magic in the shootout. 11 shots for Adebayor... surely RVN would have put one of them away? But Shaun happy anyway no doubt.

Expected Roma to come out playing C, so took a chance playing A as I didn't think they had the players for the tactical bonus. So good win for us in the end and a semi-final place to boot.

Very pleased to have made it through to the semis. Could this be Villa's year? Another amazing result, but very unfortunate for Ajax. Keeper injuries can really ruin a season, but luckily for Ajax it's only one more game before he returns.

Disappointed with the game, red card for my best mid after 4 mins made it a very 1 sided contest, frustrating after getting this far in the competition. But fair play to Porto, completely dominated from start to finish and would have been a travesty if they didn't get through to the next round

Disappointed and unlucky to lose on the balance of play. We had to convert one of our chances in the first half hour when we were dominating the game, with Barca not in it at all. An injury to our star defender and then once Barca scored we had to chase the game and this didn't help and Barca were then slighty more likely to get another.
But on the whole we were more than a match for the now mighty Barcalona, so can take heart from our performance and hope to reserve this result in the league and possible FA cup encounter.

Very pleased to have made it through to the semis. Could this be Villa's year? Another amazing result, but very unfortunate for Ajax. Keeper injuries can really ruin a season, but luckily for Ajax it's only one more game before he returns. just so happens that Villa helped us out double bubble here, Ajax would have been a tougher semi final draw for us on paper if the draw still went the same way. Plus the keeper injury happens to be the 1 game out against us which is very handy due to the fitness of some players for me this week specially Adebayor. Think we lost to Villa in 1 of the cups last season on pens, the keeper has helped them along on few cup runs but don't seem to have the same effect in the league for them with really challenging for top spot. but still doing a fine job on all fronts (nice to see as a Villa fan) We will defo be looking to get into the final here though, be great to see my boys achieve a final after few seasons of building. avoid relegation and reach a final will be awesome for the fans this season. really cant see the cup going to anyone but Barca now though. would have fancied us to have a good go with RVN up front but couldn't really turn down the offer in the end as he had started to be less effective for us in recent weeks. does leave us lacking up front till end of season, but got Juanfran out on loan who will be pretty good when gets back for next season...... maybe going to need a better backup though so maybe get 1 in before this season finishes. or another AM lol

But fair play to Porto, completely dominated from start to finish and would have been a travesty if they didn't get through to the next round was defo a bit of bad luck for you mate, would have played its part in our domination that's for sure. Think we set up well too with having to think about no RVN in the squad, held us to the draw though despite the amount of chances we had.... goes to show how good these top keepers are and without a top striker its near on impossible to break them down without some luck. Glad we came through on pens though, defo would have been a gutter losing after we controlled the game (prob wouldn't have had any hair left tbh lmao)
