Two very interesting ties. How Rangers won that playing no one up top all game.
I was shocked at the 12 missed penalties on the trot, bit then less so when I saw the shooting skills of all but one penalty taker, school boy errors by both if you ask me.
Then the other semi, did Aberdeen score too early, I think the answer is yes. If they'd have scored later whilst having the tactical advantages they may have survived when giving it away to shut up shop.

Interesting points John. Don't know what it is about 541C that leads to so many early goals! I guess it was a good call for Bryn to play A in case we went D. But over the game we had plenty of chances to win it, 11 on target vs 5 and knocking the ball around very well with 19 kps vs 5. At the end of the day it was the keepers and strikers that were the difference. So our double cup run comes to an end with our heads held high.
Congrats to Rangers on making it to the semis - lack of ambition from Benfica costing them there I think. I would hope the game engine doesn't rely too much on Sh for pens, because in real life that doesn't have too much to do with your ability to take a pen. But it's a freak lottery result I think.

You've hit the nail on head in your comment, it's a game engine, so I'm 99% certain it does take that into account and the proof is in this game. I myself try and heavy load on strikers or attacking mids, being on the pitch come the end of the match in cups, more so if I think the opposition might play for a draw.

Well played Dan! Aberdeen gave us a good game. We were fairly certain they'd set up with the same one as in our first match. We struggled when loading the midfield in that game with E tactic, so we knew it was a daring move two put two up front and hand them the tactical advantage this time. Our idea was to pack a punch in attack after we could only put one past them in the first game. It worked out well in the end and we're very pleased. Good to see Rangers having some success in the cup and we wish them all the best facing us in the semifinals.

Absolutely rode my luck the entire game, the red card just totally threw any offensive tactics out the window, so it was a case of hold out for penalties, saying that we did compete well and had a fair few chances, but to be honest I don't care how it happened and why it did, but we got the result and we are in a cup semi final for the first time since season 10 !!!
Our slump and rebuild has been a long and frustrating one, we have been down and out, ribbed and ridiculed, but I am really pleased to have a little bit of success.
As for the semi finals, Barcelona are a massive hurdle to overcome, but we will give it a go, if we go down then it wont be any surprise to anyone, but it's a cup match and shocks can happen, a cup final would be massive achievement for Rangers.
