Congrats to Bayern on yet another piece of silverware!
Ajax gave it their best and mixed it up a little tactics wise, and to lose on penalties must be a real sickener.
Bayern had most of the game and on reflection deserved the win in normal time.
I was rooting for the underdog, Ajax have a really good team and are due silverware, they can count themselves unlucky.
Well done John.

Well done Bayern! Ajax must be gutted to get as far as they could without winning it. 50% of the double for Jon's boys.

Well what can we say, absolutely buzzing to pick uo some silverware, this is what we said at the start of the season, so we've already exceeded our expectations massively.
When questioned Raggett said it's nice to go into the season with no expectations, I'm looking for our younger lads to step up and enjoy playing football, if we finish 3rd/4th I'll see that as a massive result and hope to add a cup run along the way, trophies we have plenty, it's time to enjoy ourselves. The time when we brought in an old superstar has gone, if I can find a player in the peak of their career then we'll be interested. Last year was suppose to be the first we enjoy but we got pulled into a title battle, I'm not hoping that doesn't happen again but we'd be happy without that distraction.
So the pressure feels like it's well and truly off going into the final 2 games now, I felt had we lost the final, even though we predicted no silverware. Having got so far in all 3 competitions, having nothing to show would have been disappointing, now we can just enjoy what will be.
Back to the game, Ajax, disappointingly came out to play for the penalties, which for a team of their quality is a shame, but confidence is low so it's not a shock.
We felt we did enough in 90 minutes to win it, and Ajax were fortunate to still have their keeper and main penalty taker still on the pitch at the end. But once it went to pens we were unsure how it would unfold, we hadn't/couldn't prepare for them like we'd like, as we had to have one eye on Benfica at the wkend, so had to use our subs based on fitness not tactically.
But in the end we got over the line as Ajax only converted 1 pen, what's with the amount of pens not going in this season, very high but we won't complain. So we claim yet another piece of silverware, our 7th League Cup to match our 7 Elite league titles and our 20th trophy in total.
What a team!!!

Gutted but have no complaints, I played for the gamble of penalty's, and my gamble didn't pay off. well played John its not nice to play a team parking team buses in a final but its the only way I think I could have won.
